Working with people with disabilities ISBN: 9780749640743
Published by Franklin Watts (Charities at Work series), 2001
Many different charities, some of them little known, are shown helping people with disabilities. Short case studies, lots of photographs, and questions to think about make the information clear. There is emphasis on disabled people wanting to be able to do all the things that others can - having their own home, doing sports (even dangerous ones), getting jobs, having hobbies, etc. Of particular use in schools will be the sections on 'How you can help' and 'Contact details'. The latter is a generous list of charities, together with phone numbers and web addresses. Included also are charities in Australia and New Zealand.
