Chemotherapy, cakes and cancer
Published by CLIC Sargent
Megan Blunt was diagnosed with osteosarcoma (bone cancer) at 12, and, at 14 and in remission, she has written this booklet to share her experiences with other children. The book is in the form of an A to Z of information - treatments, terms, advice, etc. - and is written in an informative and chatty style that will appeal greatly to pre-teens and teenagers. She explains some very technical terms in an easy way and clarifies lots of details that are good to know. This booklet belongs on every children's ward, and as it is free from the Child Cancer Helpline: 0800 197 0068, it certainly should be there. An impressive accomplishment. The illustrations, quirky and clever, add much to the whole.
