There are lots of noises in Newton's night, but the little bear (or bunny, or dog, or whatever he is) bravely faces them all and identifies each one. His toys are brave too, and Newton reassures them (and himself) by saying 'There's always an explanation for everything'. The nicest noise is Newton's rumbly tummy, which he cures with bread and honey and milk. Then he keeps the toys awake with his snoring. Little ones will identify happily with Newton's hesitant bravado. Lovely, simple illustrations.
