Little Mouse is fearful of many things, but with the loving support of his family and a little inner voice (that speaks in rhyme) he learns he can be a 'brave, brave mouse' when faced with a babysitter, the swimming pool, new kinds of food, the dentist, or shadows in the night. BUT when at the park the other little mice dare him to use the big play equipment, he decides quite on his own that he doesn't want to. Despite being called a scaredy-mouse, he can say no! The superb drawings, full of soft yellows and pastel colours show us Little Mouse's cosy home, full of polka dots, flowers and warmth, his teddy and his comfort rag, all of which says just where that strong inner voice comes from. Superb, lovely, happy story.
