Lots of scary things are packed into this book, some of which every child will recognise. Some of the scary things are actually sad, but I suppose they could be considered scary too: thinking you're not going to be picked for either side is scary; having your best friend move away is scary, etc. The highly humourous illustrations put it all into perspective, and children will be able to laugh at the pictures while acknowledging their own fears. Should be excellent for discussion.
