Loneliness pours out from every page of this book - the loneliness of an unusual man who can only show his love for his little boy by making him things out of his other love - boxes. Very few words, combined with stunning pictures, give us a man who is laughed at and despised by his neighbours, but who is loved by his son. One suspects the unusual main character comes from within the author/illustrator. Stephen Michael King is partially deaf and has learned to express himself without words. A lovely production.
