Piglittle won't eat his lovely sprouts and potato and mum is despairing. When he goes to all the other barnyard animals and tries their food, he doesn't like those either. 'Yuck', he says, 'they're horrid.. When he gets home, mum has mashed up the sprouts and potato in a 'treat for little piglets' and he finds that quite delicious. The moral seems to be that when a little one gets hungry enough, good food will be quite acceptable. Piglittle is a charming pink and spotty piglet, and the watercolour illustrations are nicely expressive. Children will enjoy the repetition of 'Yuck, it's horrid'.
