D.W. doesn't like many foods, but her particular hate is spinach. She manages to get rid of or avoid most of the things she doesn't like, but when the family goes to a restaurant, she throws a tantrum because there is a spinach leaf in her salad. Mum, dad and Arthur are so embarrassed they refuse to take her to a restaurant again. When grandma's birthday meal comes along, D.W. wants desperately to come along and promises to be good. And she is. She clears her plate, but is horrified to learn that her delicious pot pie was made of spinach. Very funny and a good lesson for picky eaters. D.W. is a 'proper little madam.'
