The National Association of Child Contact Centres (NACCC) has published this picture book as a way of helping children get used to the idea of meeting a parent at a contact centre. Ben's parents get angry and shout if they meet, and Ben and his little sister Sally miss seeing their dad terribly. There is lots of good information about how contact centres work and some references to problems that can crop up. It is mostly, though, a positive introduction to the good work they do, with the emphasis on the joy and pleasure that a child and parent has when they see each other in a controlled situation. The pictures add much to this sensitive approach.
