The little girl and her brother are six and four when things go wrong at home. When dad finally leaves to live with his girl friend, the little boy reverts to baby practices and the little girl develops problems at school. Emotions are handled honestly, and there are custody arrangements to sort out. The little girl doesn't really like to see her dad with his girl friend, and later, when mum acquires a boy friend, she is uneasy about that too. But she learns that both parents still love her and that many of her friends suffer the same problems. Cheerful colours in the excellent illustrations complement the text.
