What do we think about family break-up ISBN: 9780750222129
Published by Wayland, 1998
One of an excellently produced series. Though aimed at both schools and homes, this book will probably be most useful to parents supporting their children through a divorce or separation. The colour photographs and large print make the information accessible, and there is emphasis on talking to others, on the changes that divorce may bring about, on how life will be the same in some ways and the fact that divorce is not the fault of the children involved. There is also mention of counselling and stepfamilies. A good two pages of notes for parents and teachers will be helpful in using the book, and there is a glossary, a short index and a page of further information, including addresses of organisations that can help.
