A gentle and moving picture book about two alien dads who are looking for a child of their own to give a 'forever' home to. All the people on their planet are called Tim, so presumably they are all male, and they are sad they can't have children, so off the two Tims go on their space bikes to look for the Space Queen, who must give them permission to find a child. This she does after thinking for a bit, and off they go again: 'Just give them a home that is full to the brim with cuddles and kindness...and two dads called Tim'. It's a long, sometimes dangerous journey, but finally they find a small light-filled planet full of children cared for by Miss Foster, all of whom need a home, and they find the perfect child, called Jim. They are ecstatic and so is little Jim, although a bit nervous in the beginning, and soon they are saying goodbye to Miss Foster and the children and flying back to their own planet. '...there's a room just for you and your toys. We'll make lots of cakes, you can make lots of noise.' At the end of the story, we see many Tims with their new adopted children, and the planet is a happy place to be. Of particular note is the fact that this picture shows lots of different Tims and their children who do not look to be of the same culture or race as their adoptive parents. Great pictures, and little ones who love to hear about the planets and stars will enjoy both seeing them and hearing the wonderful rhymes that accompany them. Lots of internal, shaped text running throughout, which adds to the fun.
