Fergal is about to go to camp, and while his parents are very encouraging about his meeting new friends there, he is a bit worried about being liked. Unfortunately, he decides that the best thing to do will be for him to outshine the others in all the activities. Of course, this is the sure way to make all the other dragons dislike him, and by lunch time he is sitting by himself and feeling very lonely and hard-done by. When the camp leader asks him what is wrong, he explains that he has tried to be best, but no one likes him. The leader gently comments that perhaps he is trying too hard and that he 'just needs to be the best YOU.' Fergal, who really is a kindly sort, takes this on board immediately and stops trying to beat everyone. Friendships can then happen naturally, and he becomes a team member instead of a leader, and all is well. Lovely pictures of Fergal and his friends sharing activities at the camp make for a great little lesson well learned.
