Topsy and Tim's best friend, Tony Welch, is about to become a big brother. When Topsy and Tim go to Tony's for tea one day, Tony's mum lets them feel the baby kicking in her stomach, and they are shown the baby's room and Tony's old cot, which he is going to 'let the baby sleep in'. He hopes it will be a boy, which it turns out to be, and he is very pleased. The twins are too, and soon they and their mum go to visit the new baby.
