The Spots and the Dots. ISBN: 9781783449248

This simple and well-imagined story has a unique presentation: When reading from one side, you have the story of the Spots; when turning over and reading from the other end, you have the Dots story. The two tribes are sworn enemies because they have always believed each other to be dangerous. The little Dots and little Spots are regularly warned by their parents not to go to the top of the hill, over which live their adversaries, and the children play games where they beat their opposites in battle. It is only one day when two little ones from opposite sides accidentally meet on top that the truth is discovered. They are all alike, except for colour, and afterwards, they live and enjoy life intermingling. Rhyming couplets and remarkable but simple pictures make for an excellent parable about racism and its outcome when truth is finally known and accepted. While you do not get a picture of the book on this page, it is available from Amazon.
