Alison hardly ever goes out to play, and her family doesn't understand why. One day when she is particularly fed up because she has been bullied, she shouts 'Bully monsters!' whereupon two bully monsters duly appear. They are somewhat taken aback by her anger, and when she realises she can stand up to them, she learns to stand up to the real bullies too. The approach may be somewhat unrealistic - bullies do not always back down on demand, but the pictures are bold, taken from interesting angles, and the large size of the book will make it useful in schools.
