Jamie has lots of friends and they all live in different families. They’re all here: single parents, two dads, two mums, two houses with separated parents, foster parents, and a mum who used to be a dad. They are all interesting people with their own talents, and they live happily with each other, sometimes in very interesting houses – a mansion, a boat, or a caravan. But the best of them all are Jamie’s grandparents, who take him on exciting adventures and hold big parties where all the children and their parents arrive and ‘are brilliant at loving us, but are terrible at dancing’. The illustrations, full of parents (and grandparents) doing their own things with their children, are brilliant too, and the theme is handled with lots of humour and fun.
