Alcohol (Straight Talking About.) ISBN: 9780749682781
Published by Franklin Watts, 2008
A fact-filled, pull-no-punches information book about alcohol as a drug and the effects it has on the body. There are thoughtful questions to discuss, lots of photos, some history, an explanation of what alcohol actually is, the dangers of driving, getting drunk and the after-effects, the DTs, peer pressure, some myths, and how alcoholism affects the family. Good for school projects, although one should be aware that as the book was published in 2008, there may be some factual information that is out of date. The health limits on drinks, for instance, are higher than would be considered right in 2018. A glossary, an index, and a list of websites and books could be useful, but won't be completely up to date. There is much to admire and to find useful - but with reservations.
