How Do Dinosaurs Get Well Soon? ISBN: 9780007837885

Dinosaur lovers will adore this book, and no doubt others will too. 'What if a dinosaur catches the flu? Does he whimper and whine in between each Atchoo?' Does he do other naughty things like throwing used tissues around, or refusing to take his medicine, or tip over his juice, or refuse to open his mouth for the doctor? Does he scream and drop his pills in the sink? No, of course he doesn't! 'He drinks lots of juice, and he gets lots of rest. He's good at the doctor's, 'cause doctors know best.' There are lots of interesting things about this book. One is that the various dinosaurs involved are all helpfully labelled with their Latin names and are portrayed in glorious technicolour! The second thing is that they interact with people - real people parents and doctors and people in the waiting room who seem not to notice that one of the patients is a huge dinosaur. The end papers at the beginning are covered with labelled dinosaurs too, and altogether, the humour, the very bright pictures and the oddness of the combination of humans and dinosaurs will appeal to a wide audience, and the rhyming couplets are great fun too. Recommended for recalcitrant sick children!
