George is having a REALLY bad day. He won't share, he shouts and screams and stamps and is horrid to his small brother. Mum says, 'There's a big bad mood hanging around you today.' And as George can't see the black mood anywhere, he goes looking for it. When he can't find it, he's crosser than ever and stomps about until, suddenly....there it is, the Big Bad Mood. It's dark blue and black, with scribbles all over it and 'smells of socks that really need changing'. It announces that it's job is to make everyone moody and unhappy and nasty and that George is just the chap to help him. George is quite pleased with this idea, so off they go. After a rampage, when they do all sorts of silly, horrid things to other people and enjoy themselves immensely, George begins to think this might not be the best idea. Their latest enterprise, turning the local swimming pool into a pool of jelly, has made his friends cross and unhappy, and he realises that he would rather have his friends happy and wanting to play with him. The Big Bad Mood says, nonsense, no one needs friends and stomps off. After that, George becomes a different lad. He cleans his room, he apologises to all the people he has miffed and his mum says he has 'not-too-bad-at-all-days'. Except that every once in a while...his friend the Big Bad Mood returns for 'a big bad moody night'!
