A wonderfully simple, bright book about families of all sorts: big ones, small ones, some the same colour, some different colours, some who live far from each other and some who live near, some with one parent, some with two parents of the same sex, and some with step fathers or mothers. There are fun ideas too: 'Some families like to be quiet; some families like to be noisy' - with attendant pictures of dogs howling at the moon. The pictures are strong and basic, and on many of the pages each word is printed very large and in different colours. There are pages that confirm important things about all families, that they like to hug, that losing someone you love is sad, that everyone likes celebration days, and, most of all, 'All families can help each other be strong!' This is an important introduction book to all the different things that families can be, handled with humour and verve.
