Kipper enjoys a visit to his class by Mr Molar and his hand puppet, Freddie Floss, who tell the children how to clean their teeth. When he gets home, he begins to tell his mum all about it. At the same time, he is playing with his yo-yo, and by mistake, knocks his tooth with it. It's quite painful, and mum decides they should visit the dentist to have it checked. The dentist has a 'flying chair' and a bright light, and when he looks at Kipper's tooth, he says it is fine. However, he finds a little black spot on a back tooth, which he fills. There then follows an explanation of disclosing tablets and how to brush properly, and when Kipper gets home, he gives the tablets to his dad and to Biff and Chip, his sister and brother. Dad is embarrassed when he must admit that he doesn't clean his teeth properly! This is a fun story with lots of information, and because of a certain amount of repetition, children will get the idea of how important it is to clean teeth properly. There is also at the back a series of pictures showing Kipper using a toothbrush well.
