And horrible it is! There is lots of good information mixed with the horrible bits though. Sections on: living conditions, food, sneezes and coughs, the plague, medicines, operations, hospitals, dentistry, preventive medicine, etc. It is an excellent browsing book and will convince children how lucky they are to be living with today's modern medicine. Lots of comic pictures, and the horrid bits will, no doubt, be the most popular ones.
