The Dentist's surgery (Out and About)
Published by Franklin Watts, 2006
A very detailed survey of all the different kinds of work going on in a dental surgery. In a particular surgery we meet dentists, dental nurses, a receptionist, and the surgery manager. We learn about what each of them does, and in a single day we see them dealing with check-ups, an emergency when a child has had a fall in the playground, x-rays, a new patient, fillings, and learning how to brush teeth properly. There is a section on health and safety that explains why dentists wear a mask and about sterilising instruments. Lots of interesting facts I hadn't known before! There is a glossary, some websites and books for further information, an index, and lots of glossy pictures. Great for dental clinics and surgeries.
