We meet lots of different families enjoying the pleasures of having a new baby. The emphasis here is positive, though such things as the noise babies make as well as the time they take is mentioned. From getting ready for the baby on through meeting the new one in hospital (and the mention that some new babies who are born early have to stay longer), we talk about how older siblings can help, about bathtime and how nice it is when baby is asleep, on through the naming ceremony (two examples are given: a christening and a Hindu ceremony). Lots of jolly pictures, short simple sentences and large print make the story accessible.
