The Littlest Dinosaur ISBN: 9780747589853
Published by Bloomsbury Publishing PLC, 2009
The dinosaur family are expecting lots of babies, and one by one the large babies pop out of their shells - all except one. Mother dinosaur says he will come out when he's ready, and is very loving. But when he does appear, he is very small and rather scrawny - not at all like his solid siblings. This makes him a lonely little dinosaur, who only likes to sit on a hill, away from the tramping feet and boisterous manners of his brothers and sisters. While on his hill, he sees another lonely dinosaur, a Long Neck, on a nearby hill, and it is to Long Neck that the Littlest Dinosaur goes when his family is in dire danger and only the two lonely misfits can save them. Misfits no longer, they are the heroes of the hour and discover the importance of being oneself and finding one's own talents. The illustrations, as always with Foreman, glow with colour and zing with movement.
