A quirky picture book which children may need a bit of maturity to enjoy. Five toys are waiting in a dim, bare room, lighted only by a hanging bulb. The toys are in a sorry state, bandaged and broken, and the room has the air of an executioner's ante-room. As each toy goes through the door to meet his fate, the others register fear and desperation, but lo and behold, they each emerge healed and happy. When the last little toy is called in, we finally see the doctor, a jolly kindly soul. Quite unique!
