An inspiring and beautiful little picture book. Ramon loves to draw, and he does so every day in some very remarkable places. But when big brother Leon makes fun of one of his drawings, Ramon realises they don't look 'right', and while he tries hard to make them do so, he feels he has failed. Little sister, Marisol, has other ideas. She has been making a gallery of his drawings in her room, and when he points out that the vase of flowers picture doesn't look like a vase of flowers, she says, 'Well, it looks vase-ish'. Ramon begins to see his pictures in a whole new light. From then on he lives 'ish-ly', drawing what he feels and even adding poetry to his artistic interests. The very simplicity of this remarkable little book is its strength. The water colour washes over ink free-line drawings and the hand-lettered text are beautifully executed. 'And Ramon lived ishfully ever after.' Superb!
