Freckleface Strawberry has red hair and freckles - lots of freckles - and she is teased by her friends. So, she tries to rid herself of the freckles, first by scrubbing, then by applying lemon juice, and finally by painting her face with felt tip pens. Nothing helps, so she resorts to a balaclava. That does the job, but no one knows her in her mask, and, besides, she's hot and itchy. Her friends make her see that she needn't care about her 'millions of freckles' because she also has 'millions of friends', and they are more important. Her freckles don't go away as she grows up, but she has learned to live happily with them. Jolly pictures and some American slang will appeal, as well as the fact that the story is written by a well-known actress, who may well, one feels, have suffered teasing about her freckles.
