The real Porky Philips ISBN: 9780713637564
Published by A.& C. Black, 1994
The problem with Porky is that he isn't very confident. He won't stand up to his nasty sister Trish, and he refuses to have anything to do with the boys his age. But worst of all, the idea of playing the Genie in the school panto throws him into a tailspin. He is sure he can't do it, and besides, the idea of having his 'fat, wobbly bits on show' is anathema. Then something sinister happens. A new Porky appears on the scene, a confident easy-going Porky whom everyone likes, and the real Porky finds himself out in the cold. He finally gets so angry that he resolves to play the Genie himself, which he does in a cocky, self-confident way, dissolving his clone in the process. Funny and short, with lots of black and white illustrations throughout the text.
