In gentle, chalky colours with integrated text, we meet the duck family. Mother and Father Duck produce five eggs, and after a careful sitting, Rufus, Rory, Rosie and Rebecca pop out. But one egg is slower hatching. Mother Duck is reassuring: 'It will...in its own time'. And so it does. But Ruby is always a little slower at everything than her siblings - slower at eating and swimming. But when they are ready to fly, Ruby is ready too, and she flies further and faster than any of the others. 'Will she ever come back?' asks Mother Duck. 'She will,' says Father Duck, 'in her own time.' And she does. Simple but very beautiful.
