Leo is very fond of Mrs Ellis. He has known all along that after this year he would no longer be in her class, but it is only when his mum bakes her a cake to say 'thank you' for his happy year, that it really comes home to him. When he realises that his next teacher will be the strict Miss Lyons, he begins to have nightmares. It is only when he and his mum meet Miss Lyons in the supermarket and then go to tea with her that he begins to feel better. He draws a picture for her of himself killing the lion/dragon of his dreams, and when he explains it to her, she tells him he was very brave not to run away. Over the summer he finds he has got that bit older - ready for Miss Lyons' class. Sensitive chalk illustrations.
