A rather worried little girl looks out from the cover of this book. It's her first day at nursery, and she doesn't much like the idea. Mum looks a little worried too when she leaves her at the door, and for half of what turns out to be a day full of exciting experiences, the little girl wants her mum. She doesn't cry, but is uneasy. Gradually, as she gets more and more involved, she forgets, and when mum arrives to take her home, she doesn't want to go. The last picture shows her jumping on her bed, wanting her second day at nursery to come quickly. The joyous, bright pictures will reassure doubtful little ones, as will the really exhilarating activities that make up a nursery school day.
