Tom and Ally Katt's mum is expecting a baby, and we see all the preparations and the kittens' doubts, fears and excitement at the prospect. Tom as the younger needs more reassurance, but both kittens help mum all they can as the time draws near. Granny arrives to help when mum and dad are off to hospital, and they happily greet new brother Bob (yes, Bob Katt!) when he comes home. When Bob wakes in the night, Tom and Ally come into their parents' bed too, needing a last bit of reassurance that they are still important. This rather special series manages to convey lots of information with humour and really excellent stories, and the cuddly, plasticine-like figures in the illustrations provide reassurance in abundance.
