Hazel monster is perturbed when her parents say that her baby brother Billy is 'the worst monster in the world'. 'He's not,' she says. 'I am.' But no one hears her. Little Billy goes from strength to strength, but Hazel gets no attention. When Billy wins the 'worst monster baby in the world' competition, Hazel decides to take drastic action. She tries to lose Billy, but he turns up; she tries to frighten him, but he doesn't scare. So she gives him away. Her parents finally take notice: 'You gave your baby brother away! You must be the worst monster in the world!' 'I told you I was,' said Hazel. All is well, though, because they gave him back. Great fun and wonderful pictures.
