'The day Ella's mother came home with baby Jasper, a lion slipped in through the door.' So begins this outstanding picture book about jealousy, for this is a naughty lion who does all sorts of unpleasant things to baby Jasper and his toys - all the things Ella would like to do. When Ella saves baby Jasper from certain destruction, the lion is not pleased, but mum and dad are. The lion leaves, but 'from time to time Ella heard a little growl'. So nice to be able to blame a lion for one's unpleasantness!
