Dr. Lion says Huckle must go into hospital to have his tonsils out. Huckle isn't too sure about this, but after Dr. Lion has taken the family round the hospital and showed them the operating theatre and the x-ray department, he agrees - as long as Lowly Worm can stay with him. On the eve of the operation Huckle gets cold feet, but Lowly takes him to see other patients who reassure him. The pictures are bright and busy, but one wonders how many children have tonsillectomies these days, and 'special gas' is used to put Huckle to sleep - unusual, surely. Some good general information.
