An unusual story about an Indian family that move into the High Street. The father is an optician and is opening a shop there, and while they are tidying it for the grand opening, they come across a teddy in need of new eyes. When buttons are sewn on, he can see, but not very well, so Papa gives him eyeglasses. Teddy thinks these are magic because he can see so much better. He helps the children find lots of customers for their father, and all is well. There is some information about eye examinations and finding the right frames, but mainly this is fun. It could be useful for preparing children for an appointment at the opticians, unless they come to expect lots of talking toys!
