Susan laughs and sings and flies and swings; she's good and bad, happy and sad. In rhyming couplets, Susan is seen to be a very ordinary, lively girl, and it is only on the very last page that we see she uses a wheelchair. Emphasising the ordinariness of people, whatever their disability, this book with its jolly illustrations should raise awareness of the fact that a wheelchair doesn't affect how people act and feel. The youngest child will respond to the repetition and the colourful pictures.
