Sally has cerebral palsy. She can walk with braces and sticks and she has some difficulty using her hands. She has been at a special school far from her home, but her family has now decided she should be with them, and they are bringing her home for good. The story is all about her adjustment to family life, to school, to new friends, and to the little dog who becomes so important to her and is 'mine for keeps'. Problems and fears are realistically faced, and her family, though strongly supportive, insist that she do things for herself. A warm and happy story, very good for identification purposes and good also on explanations about CP. Some sentimentality, but lots of common sense too. Set in Canada.
