Betty's not well today ISBN: 9781842701737
Published by Andersen Press, 2002
A gentle story with a surprise ending. Betty was fine last night at teatime, but today she is in bed, dreaming about the things she would do if she were not unwell. The doctor says she will be fine after a good night's sleep, which she is - but on the last page, we learn that Betty is a doll. While the little girl has been unwell, she has been pretending that the illness was her doll's. Charming illustrations, but it might take a little sophistication to catch the twist at the end. All in rhyme.
